Memorial (east)
03:28
|
|
||
Weaving in between the cars on east memorial boulevard on a bike that's made for children
All the time you had was running out
A light that cuts the thinning fog still safe beside the esplanade
You had always hoped for something
That all that time would bring would be enough
(too long)
The cliff beside the ocean
You'd climb it every morning
Whenever you were up until the dawn
(so long)
You never kept it all together
Never cared about the weather
Never wanted to accept that you were wrong
Time will pass
Tides will turn
Still you'll and still you'll learn
But there's nothing you can do about it now you dug a hole you can't get out

All Our Own
03:39
|
|
||
Our world has shrunk / the world has grown
And it don't feel the same way anymore
If we don't treat them like our own
how can we know ourselves for who we are?
Hypnotizing, Enterprising, Globalizing
(what we know)
Digitizing, Demonizing, Catalyzing
(all our own)
Televising, Advertising, Polarizing
(what we know)
Synthesizing, Automizing, Paralyzing
How did we get where we are?
Can we save ourselves?

SunDay
03:49
|
|
||
Take my time
Even when the sun don't shine
I don't mind
Lazy Sunday
Almost Monday
(lets not talk about that now)
Find the tallest tree
"will you sit with me?"
Resting upon its boughs
Can you hear the breeze
Rustling the leaves
(I could lose myself in that sound)
Feel the branches sway
As the sun melts away
From the paradise we've found
Take my time
Even when the sun don't shine
I don't mind

MoonDay
03:04
|
|
||
The sun is out
The sun is high
But the moon has yet to leave its place in the sky
Just can't say goodbye to the night
Though it seems so permanently
Fixed upon its place in the firmament
See, it just can't say goodbye to the night
Is it an owl or a lark?
It hangs in a stately silver arc
The sun my hide its face away
But the night will never run from the day
The moon controls the sea
And all the animals that swim in the deep
Why do you think that sharks don't ever sleep
Its the sun that gives us light
Fills our eyes with its radiant golden light
Then it leaves and it continues being night
Is it an owl or a lark?
It hangs in a stately silver arc
The sun my hide its face away
But the night will never run from the day

Now that it is done, it doesn't feel so strange
In lovely unison, not hard to face the change

Landing
02:51
|
|
||
Spare us our time and we'll spare you your words
It is something we've already heard
If we could fly on the wings of a bird
We'd fly to the ocean and there we'd be cured
And when we land I think that we should
Gather kindling and dry firewood
So that we can stand in the place we once stood
Have a fire by the ocean and all would be good
Descending the cliff to the shore and the stone
The brambles are all overgrown
We may not have wings
We may not have flown
But at least this is something we've known

MoonGlow

|
|

Stay with me -
I'll lie awake until you go
Still in your grace, my heart still races
Say the words and then I'll know
The moon still glows!

Solere

Steam is rising from the water
carried off to sea by the ever present breeze
we watched it float away from the far side of the bay
and in the presence of the other
its awfully hard to grieve for things you can't conceive
as the sky began to fray we started on our way
Past the lake we reached the white pines and started upon a steep incline
the sky was burning orange and the rocks were dry
we saw our feet were flying
(could you remember the time before you young?)
when only love could exist?
Up through a granite wedge there stood a plateau on a ledge
There were flowing rivers made of sand
Unknown to history was everything the eye could see
It was all too grand
All too hard to understand
(could you remember the time before you young?)
when only love could exist.
It caught you off your guard
put you in your place
what space could not contain
what time could not erase
what colors could not show
what sound could not express
it brought you to your knees
and took away your breath
where the past and future meet
and slowly swirl around your feet
as you start to breathe it in the air is bitter, cool, and sweet
It came into your heart on yellow cracking wings
it has always been a apart of you
its the reason that you sing
it is everything you've ever loved
in everything you've ever lost
it has always been inside of you
in the voices of your thoughts
it was the hum inside your ears
it was the flutter in your heart
it was right there to the end of you
and long before your start

Friends (waves)
04:50
|
|

Dear friends,
There is magic in the way you are your own, my friends. Magic how together we have grown. I'll leave a piece of me here when I go. Oh my friends, there is a place inside my heart that is all your own. My friends, we may leave but this will always be our home. I'll leave a piece of me here, with you, when I go
(Love come is waves)
